The Story of BORHIRO
Brown
Field was born in Portofino, a small seaport in northwestern Italy, and moved
to England with his father when he was ten years old. His father is a radio
engineer. He used to work in speaker unit design and tuning in several audio
companies such as TANNOY and Wharfedale . Brown Field was influenced by
his father, Has a strong interest at his most contact "toys" that
make beautiful sounds since childhood.
After
graduating from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the
University of Sheffield in 1969, Brown Field chose to work in the same job as
his father due to his own preferences. With the help of his father, and good
interpersonal relationships, Brown Field successively Worked for more than ten
years in companies such as KEF and Celef Audio (the predecessor of ProAc).
During
this period, Brown Field was mainly engaged in the research of speaker unit
back electromotive force (subject research) and speaker structure and material
application. Perhaps it is talent and spirituality. Brown Field’s speaker
design always seems a bit advanced. At the same time, his new style of British
sound concept was not recognized by mainstream speaker designers at that time,
but there is no lack of his father’s continuous encouragement and support.
Until
1983, his former colleague Mike York approached him and discussed the design
and production of loudspeaker units that were in line with his own New Style
British Sound.
In
1983, the Borhiro Acoustic Design Studio, which was established by Brown Field
and Mike York in cooperation, has become a clear stream in the market for a
time because of the refreshing and bright sound of the speakers they designed
together, as well as the delicate and gentle characteristics. Liked and sought
after by the British elite.
In

Field has gradually In the following ten years, the new style of British sound
advocated by Brown Field has gradually been recognized by most British music
lovers, and well-known audio companies have gradually begun to use their
products and obtained some production orders.
At
the beginning of the 21st century, the trend of capital operation gradually
spread. Many well-known audio companies were merged and some were controlled by
capital, and their products were forced to transform. Brown Field also
encountered the same experience.
In 2002, due to the retirement of his
partner Mike York, the elderly Brown Field was also preparing to retreat to the
second line. He gradually transferred his years of research and career to his
eldest son, Jan Field.
In
2006, Jan Field formally took over the acoustic design studio and led the
product development.
In 2010, Jan
Field decided to launch his own speaker design, from speaker unit design to
crossover devices, the finished products of the cabinet were independently
completed by his company, and the brand still uses
Borhiro.
Full frequency coaxial unit
The speaker unit has a sensitivity of 92dB (1m/1w) and an average impedance of 15 ohms. The single unit uses Alnico magnets. The magnetic strength of the bass unit is 12,000 Gauss, and the magnetic strength of the tweeter unit is 18,000 Gauss (10,000 Gauss equals 1. Tesla).
"We are working at almost twice the capacity".
